Vance Oozed Confidence Compared to Jittery Walz, Body Language Expert Says: ‘Captain of the Ship’
Sen. JD Vance came across as calm and confident at Tuesday’s debate, while Gov. Tim Walz appeared nervous and anxious, according to body language expert Carole Lieberman. Vance’s steady demeanor and authentic presentation made him seem like a “captain of the ship,” Lieberman said. In contrast, Walz’s body language was discordant with his words, showing signs of lying and nervousness, particularly at the beginning of the debate.
Lieberman noted that Vance’s confidence and authenticity made him more likable and trustworthy. He used big hand movements to explain his points, which added to his steady and stable presence. On the other hand, Walz’s nervousness and fidgeting made him appear anxious and exhausted, especially when he tried to deflect questions about his past statements.
The body language expert concluded that Vance’s performance was more effective, making him seem like a more experienced politician despite his relatively short time in the Senate. In contrast, Walz’s strategy of blaming Trump for many issues became ineffective, leading to his appearance of being lost and defensive.
