Trump Meets Ukraine’s Zelenskyy at Trump Tower, Says Russia’s War Must End with ‘Fair Deal’
Former President Donald Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at Trump Tower in New York on Friday, where the two leaders found common ground in their desire to end the conflict in Ukraine. Trump stated that he has a “very good relationship” with Zelenskyy and emphasized the need for a “fair deal” to resolve the war.
Zelenskyy highlighted the importance of engaging with both presidential contenders, including Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, to ensure continued support for Ukraine following the November elections. The meeting comes after Zelenskyy met with Harris in Washington, D.C., where Harris pledged unwavering support for Ukraine and criticized Trump’s consideration of negotiated peace at the cost of captured regions of the country.
Trump expressed his belief that if he were to win the upcoming election, the conflict in Ukraine would be resolved “very quickly.” Zelenskyy and Trump shared a common view that the war in Ukraine must come to an end, with Putin unable to emerge victorious.
