Trump Campaign Denies Agreement to ’60 Minutes’ Interview

The Trump campaign has denied ever agreeing to an interview with ’60 Minutes’ after CBS News claimed that former President Donald Trump backed out of the scheduled interview. This denial comes despite CBS News stating that Trump initially accepted the invitation to be interviewed by Scott Pelley for a special edition of ’60 Minutes’ airing next Monday.

The Trump campaign cited fact-checking provisions and a long-running dispute over the Hunter Biden laptop story as reasons for not participating in the interview. They also dismissed ’60 Minutes’ as a “relic of the past, unable to keep up with the times and changing media environment, instead turning into liberal, biased propaganda”.

CBS News has indicated that the original invitation to Trump remains open, and the special edition will proceed with an interview featuring Vice President Kamala Harris, conducted by correspondent Bill Whitaker later this week.
