Texas Residents Express Frustration with the Economy, Trust Trump More than Harris
Residents near Houston, Texas, expressed frustration with the current overall costs and the economy as a whole. They shared their concerns about inflation, housing, and interest rates, stating that grocery trips have doubled in cost. For example, a good grocery trip used to be around $150-$125, but now it averages $250-$300.
When asked who they trust more to handle the economy, many residents expressed their support for Donald Trump. One resident said, “When Trump was in office, you know, things were doing well.” Another resident stated, “I think inflation is out of control. Housing and interest rates are out of control. I definitely trust Trump more to tackle the economy.” A third resident added, “Trump, because he’s the only businessman that’s capable of running our country.”
The economy remains a top issue for American voters, with 39% of voters surveyed saying it is their most pressing concern, according to a September Fox News national poll. Despite this, Trump’s advantage over Kamala Harris on the economy stands at only 5 points in the Fox News poll, and just 2 points in the AP/NORC survey.
