“Senator Tom Cotton Claims Biden-Harris Administration Likely Prolonged Gaza War and Allowed Aid to Go to Terrorists, Betraying Taxpayers”

Sen. Cotton Says Biden-Harris Likely Prolonged Gaza War, Let Aid Go to Terrorists: ‘Betrayed’ Taxpayers

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., has claimed that the Biden-Harris administration’s humanitarian aid to Gaza may have been diverted to Hamas, prolonging the Gaza war and betraying American taxpayers. This assertion comes after a letter from Cotton to the head of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Samantha Power, expressing grave concerns about the misuse of over $1 billion in U.S. humanitarian aid sent to Gaza since October 2023.

Cotton’s letter highlights that credible reporting indicates Hamas terrorists have diverted this aid, and there is indisputable evidence demonstrating the aid was at high risk of diversion. He also pointed out that USAID announced approximately $336 million in additional humanitarian funding for Gaza, Judea, and Samaria, despite the United Nations acknowledging that Fateh al-Sharif, a Hamas leader, was employed by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).

Cotton has urged Power to immediately suspend all aid until credible and serious steps are taken to stop Americans’ tax dollars from funding terrorists. He has also criticized UNRWA for its links to Hamas terrorists and called for the agency to be outlawed in Israel. The USAID spokesperson has refuted the allegations, stating that USAID does not provide funding to UNRWA and works closely with the Government of Israel to coordinate humanitarian assistance and discuss potential risks.
