Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Lawyers Appeal Detention, Seeking Release from Jail Ahead of Trial
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lawyers have filed a notice of intent to appeal for his release from jail, following his second denial of bail. Combs, 54, is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn while awaiting trial on sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges.
The appeal was filed on Monday, September 30, by Alexandra Shapiro, part of Combs’ legal team, with the actual appeal brief to be filed soon. Combs’ lawyers have proposed various measures to ensure his release, including a $50 million bail offer and GPS monitoring at his Florida mansion, but these proposals have been rejected by the court due to concerns about witness safety and potential violent behavior.
Combs’ next court appearance is scheduled for a status conference on October 9. His lawyers continue to argue that he is innocent and should be released from the Brooklyn jail, which has faced criticism for its conditions and understaffing.
