Nancy Pelosi Admits She Still Hasn’t Spoken to President Biden After Pressuring Him to Drop Out of the Race
Nancy Pelosi, the former Speaker of the House, has acknowledged that she has not communicated with President Joe Biden since she advised him to withdraw from the presidential race after a disastrous debate performance against Donald Trump in June. This was revealed in an interview on the Guardian’s Politics Weekly America podcast.
Pelosi expressed that while she holds Biden in high regard as a long-time political ally and friend, she felt compelled to step in due to her belief that a strategic political assessment was necessary in light of Biden’s apparent decline in mental sharpness. She noted, “Elections are choices. You choose to win. I made a decision some time ago that Donald Trump will never occupy the White House again, either as president or in any role.”
When asked if she had talked to Biden since her remarks, Pelosi replied, “Not since then, no. But I am hopeful about it.” She also mentioned that she rarely says Trump’s name, referring to him as “what’s-his-name” due to her strong disapproval of him.
