Miami Dolphins head coach expects Tua Tagovailoa to play again in 2024 after latest concussion.

Miami Dolphins Head Coach Expects Tua Tagovailoa to Play Again This Year After Latest Concussion

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel has indicated that he anticipates quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will face challenges following a series of concussions throughout his NFL journey. The latest incident occurred when Tagovailoa lunged for a first down, resulting in a collision. Fortunately, the 26-year-old was able to leave the field unaided after the impact.

This recent concussion adds to a troubling history, as Tagovailoa experienced multiple head injuries during the 2022 season. Earlier this year, he revealed that he had contemplated stepping away from the sport due to the effects of these injuries.

Following this most recent head trauma, McDaniel expressed optimism regarding Tagovailoa’s potential return this season. “The updates have remained encouraging. He is still gathering information this week,” McDaniel shared with the media on Monday. “In terms of timelines, I understand he won’t be participating this week, but I do anticipate his return to the game in 2024.”

Tagovailoa has been placed on the reserve/injured list after his concussion in Week 2, which means he will be sidelined for at least four games. According to NFL regulations, the earliest he could return to play would be during Miami’s home match against the Arizona Cardinals on October 27 in Week 8.
