– **Health Equity Program**: A national health initiative targeting diseases that disproportionately affect Black men, such as sickle cell disease, diabetes, and prostate cancer. This includes enhancing preventive screening services.
– **Mentorship and Apprenticeships**: Investments in mentorship and training programs tailored for Black males, as well as doubling the number of quality apprenticeships.
– **Legalization of Recreational Marijuana**: A promise to legalize recreational marijuana at the national level, ensuring that Black men can participate in the growing industry and avoid disproportionate incarceration for marijuana-related offenses.
These initiatives are part of Harris’s ‘Opportunity Agenda for Black Men,’ designed to address specific challenges faced by this demographic in entrepreneurship, wealth accumulation, and career advancement.
