Going to be a close one: Detroiters reveal if the city is leaning towards Harris or Trump

Detroit residents have shared their opinions on the upcoming presidential election, with some expressing strong support for both candidates. A resident from the east side of Detroit stated, “It got to be Trump for the whole city. They are all voting Trump.” However, another resident from St. Clair Shores in Macomb County noted, “People on both sides. It’s going to be a close one.”

Two other Detroit natives supported Vice President Kamala Harris, citing her compassion and ability to think about everyone, not just herself. One resident said, “I really like Kamala Harris because she’s got a lot more compassion. It’s not about yourself. It’s about everybody.”

A new poll by the New York Times and Siena College found Harris had 48% support in Michigan, while Trump had 47%. The city’s residents also weighed in on which candidate they believe would be a stronger leader, with some arguing that Trump’s experience as president gives him an edge, while others see Harris as a more compassionate leader.
