The latest Fox News Power Rankings show that former President Donald Trump maintains a lead on two of the top issues ahead of the upcoming vice presidential debate. Trump leads on the economy by nine points and immigration by 11 points, according to recent polls. These numbers have barely budged since the first debate between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris in August.
Harris, however, leads on the issue of abortion by 17 points. The tracker includes polls from Fox News, Quinnipiac, CNN/SSRS, NBC News, and the New York Times/Siena. The modest shifts in the polls suggest that Trump’s slight decline was due to style rather than substance, while Harris’s advantage on abortion has remained consistent.
The vice presidential debate, featuring Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Ohio Sen. JD Vance, is set to take place in New York City, with Fox News simulcasting the event with special coverage anchored by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum at 8:20 p.m. ET. The debate is expected to focus on major issues at stake and how the administrations of the candidates would address them.
