Ex-Vegas Politician Sentenced to Life in Prison
A former Las Vegas-area Democratic politician, Robert Telles, has been sentenced to at least 28 years in prison before he is eligible for parole. Telles was convicted of killing investigative journalist Jeff German, who had written critical stories about him. The judge invoked sentencing enhancements to add eight years to the minimum 20 years to life sentence set by the jury in August. German, 69, had spent 44 years covering crime, courts, and corruption in Las Vegas.
