Family Selling Dream Home to Fund Life-Saving Treatment for 5-Year-Old Daughter

A family is selling their dream home to raise money for life-saving therapy for their 5-year-old daughter, Tallulah Moon, who has SPG56, a degenerative brain disease caused by a rare gene mutation. The family has set up a charitable foundation, Genetic Cures for Kids, to fund the gene therapy treatment, which is currently in clinical trials. The money from the sale of their home will go towards the $5 million needed to manufacture the clinical-grade version of the gene therapy. The family has moved to the Sunshine Coast to be closer to therapists and research being done in Brisbane, but hopes to return to the Top End someday.
