Connecticut Absentee Voting Begins

Connecticut has started absentee voting, joining a growing number of states that have implemented absentee or early voting for the 2024 election. This development comes as voters in Connecticut prepare to make their choices in national, state, and local races.

The current rules for absentee voting in Connecticut require voters to provide an excuse to receive a ballot. However, a ballot measure this November will ask voters if the state constitution should be amended to allow all voters to cast their ballots by mail without an excuse.

Early in-person voting in Connecticut began on October 21 and will continue through November 3. Each town or city in the state has at least one early voting location, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except on October 29 and 31, when hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m..
