Battleground State Voters on the Economy
Voters in Clark County, Nevada, are deeply concerned about the economy, with soaring prices making it a top priority heading into the presidential election. Several voters shared their views with Fox News Digital, highlighting the economic squeeze they face. For example, Jerrie from Henderson said, “Go to the grocery store, you get three items, and there’s 50 bucks right there.” Nick, a retiree, noted that his money goes down each month more than it used to four years ago, adding, “When people have to take away things that they like to do, it’s just not living. It’s not quality of living.” Despite the economic concerns, voters are split on which candidate is better on the economy. Some, like Jerrie, prefer Kamala Harris, while others, like Nick, support Donald Trump.
Harris has called for an “opportunity economy” focused on lower grocery and prescription drug prices, as well as giving first-time home buyers $25,000 in down payment assistance. Bri, a realtor, appreciates Harris’ focus on real estate and hopes she will move forward with housing policies. However, not all voters are convinced, with Melissa doubting Harris’ ability to address economic issues, saying, “Her whole campaign is based on just ridiculousness.”
