Sen. John Fetterman Proclaims Unflinching Support for Israel: ‘Will Not Waver’
Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania has continued to express his unwavering support for Israel. Following the Israeli forces’ killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, Fetterman declared his unflinching support through social media posts. He stated, “I want to salute Israel and celebrate the elimination of Yahya Sinwar—a necessary move for any future enduring peace. Eliminating the mastermind of the 10/7 massacre is the definition of justice served. My vote and my voice for Israel will not waver”.
Fetterman has been a consistent and vocal supporter of Israel, comparing Hamas to the Nazis of World War II. He has also rejected international pressure to push Israel into a ceasefire without Hamas being neutralized or surrendering. U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin described the killing of Sinwar as “a major achievement in counterterrorism”.
Fetterman’s stance has drawn criticism from some progressive Democrats, but he remains resolute in his support for Israel. He has also praised Israel’s actions against Hezbollah, stating, “I love it” when referring to the suspected Israeli attack that exploded pagers and walkie-talkies across Lebanon, killing dozens and wounding thousands.
In a recent exchange with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Fetterman blamed Hamas for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, stating, “The tragedy in Gaza is 100% on Hamas. Stop using civilians and hospitals as shields, surrender, and release all remaining hostages—and this ends”.
Fetterman’s unwavering support for Israel has been recognized by various groups, including the Zionist Organization of America, which honored him with a “Defender of Israel” award. His position on Israel remains unchanged, as he continues to advocate for Israel’s actions against Hamas and Hezbollah, stating, “Israel knows best about how to take on Iran and its proxies”.
