Laken Riley Act Sponsor Blasts Bill Clinton’s Claim
Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala., who sponsored the Laken Riley Act alongside Sen. Ted Budd, R-N.C., criticized former President Bill Clinton for his remarks about the death of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley. Clinton had suggested that stronger border security and vetting could have prevented Riley’s murder by an alleged illegal immigrant suspect, Jose Ibarra. Britt countered that the Biden-Harris Administration’s policies are to blame for the lack of border security and interior immigration enforcement, which she believes led to Riley’s death.
