Stanley Kubrick’s Daughter Says She’s ‘Very Confident’ Famous Father Would’ve Supported Trump

Vivian Kubrick, the daughter of renowned filmmaker Stanley Kubrick, has expressed her strong belief that her late father would have supported Donald Trump. This assertion comes after Trump used footage from Kubrick’s iconic 1987 film, “Full Metal Jacket,” in a campaign video. The video juxtaposes intense boot camp scenes from the film with clips of U.S. military service members dressed in drag to warn about the “woke military” under President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

In a post on X, Vivian Kubrick addressed critics who believed her father would not have approved of Trump’s use of the film footage. She argued that while an anti-war movie like “Full Metal Jacket” might seem incongruous with promoting a tough, non-woke military, the current times are “very dangerous and strange.” She suggested that using such footage is a matter of expediency, aiming to highlight the need for a strong military without the demoralizing effects of woke ideologies.

Vivian further noted that her father, who supported Reagan, would have approved of saving America and the world from what she perceives as highly destructive globalist forces. She believes that if the clips from “Full Metal Jacket” help Trump advocate for a well-trained, resilient military, then Trump has her endorsement. Vivian also emphasized her father’s profound understanding of human nature, which allowed him to create anti-war films while having a strong enthusiasm for firearms for self-defense.
