Tensions Allegedly Rise Between Biden White House and Harris Campaign

Tensions have grown between the Biden White House and the Harris campaign, with Axios reporting that members of the Harris campaign are frustrated with a lack of coordination on messaging for the election. Senior Biden aides are allegedly still adjusting to being in a supporting role on the campaign trail and are feeling “wounded” by President Biden being pushed out of his re-election bid.

The main issue is that White House aides are not sufficiently coordinating President Biden’s messaging and schedule to align with what is best for the vice president’s campaign. For example, President Biden held an impromptu press conference on Friday while Vice President Kamala Harris was attending an event in Michigan, which drew attention away from her event.

Additionally, there have been conflicts such as President Biden praising Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for handling recent hurricanes shortly after Harris criticized DeSantis for not taking her calls. A Harris aide stated, “The White House is lacking someone in the room thinking first and foremost about how things would affect the campaign”.

Despite these tensions, most Biden aides are actively rooting for Harris to win the election. However, there is ongoing tension with some White House staffers transitioning to the Harris campaign, particularly those who feel labeled as disloyal by Biden’s team for leaving or considering it.
