Wisconsinites Discuss Harris’ Midwestern Running Mate Tim Walz

Wisconsinites Talk Harris’ Midwestern Running Mate

Voters in Wisconsin shared their thoughts on fellow Midwesterner Gov. Tim Walz, who is Kamala Harris’ vice presidential running mate. Despite his proximity and Midwestern characteristics, voters expressed negative sentiments about Walz.

Voters who spoke with Fox News Digital in the battleground state of Wisconsin were not particularly fond of Vice President Harris’ running mate. “Who’s Tim Walz?” asked Waukesha County, Wisconsin resident Diana Altwies, who plans to vote for former President Donald Trump. Fox News Digital interviewed voters in Milwaukee, Kenosha, and Waukesha counties, asking whether Walz’s status as a Midwesterner was relatable to them.

Brian Morawski of Milwaukee County described Walz as “completely stupid” and “relatable as somebody that I really dislike.” Diana Altwies mentioned she had heard his last name before but didn’t actually know who Harris’ running mate was. “I’ve never seen him on TV or anything,” she said.

Kathy Przekwas of Kenosha County expressed strong dislike for Walz, describing him as “fast-talking” and “throws in, like, a bunch of things that aren’t true but talks real fast.” She criticized his handling of the pandemic in Minnesota, including his stay-at-home executive order with potential penalties of up to a $1,000 fine or 90 days of jail time.

Wisconsin Democratic Party Chairman Ben Wikler countered these views, saying, “So many people have said to me, ‘He’s like my dad.'” He described Walz as having an “extraordinary quality” for Wisconsin voters, emphasizing that what Wisconsinites look for are good neighbors. However, Wisconsin Republican Party Executive Director Andrew Iverson noted that voters are aware of “his failed record” and are more excited about JD Vance, Trump’s running mate from Ohio.
