Elon Musk Unveils Tesla’s ‘Cybercab’ Robotaxi

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, unveiled the company’s new robotaxi, the Cybercab, at the “We, Robot” event held at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California. The Cybercab is a fully autonomous vehicle designed without a steering wheel or pedals, aiming to revolutionize urban mobility. Musk projected that the Cybercab will be priced under $30,000 and will be available for production before 2027.

The event also showcased the Robovan, a self-driving van capable of carrying up to 20 people, and the humanoid robot Optimus, which could become a key product for Tesla. Musk emphasized the safety benefits of autonomous vehicles, claiming they will be ten times safer than human-operated cars.

Tesla plans to roll out full self-driving (FSD) features in California and Texas next year, initially applying to the Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. This move is contingent on obtaining regulatory approvals and aims to transform the ride-hailing market by enabling owners to deploy their vehicles as taxis when not in use.
