Elon Musk Unveils Future of Tesla Tonight
Elon Musk is set to unveil the future of Tesla tonight at a company event where he will present plans for the company’s robotaxis. The event, scheduled for October 10, 2024, is expected to be a significant moment for Tesla, potentially rivaling the impact of Apple’s iPhone launch.
The unveiling is expected to showcase the Cybercab, a vehicle designed specifically for Tesla’s robotaxi fleet. The Cybercab is anticipated to be a compact, two-seater vehicle with no steering wheel or pedals, inspired by the Cybertruck.
During the event, Tesla might also introduce a ride-hailing service utilizing both Tesla’s own cars and those owned by customers who wish to rent them out when not in use. The company will retain a portion of the earnings, with the remainder going to the vehicle owners.
The event is taking place at Warner Bros. Studios in California, and it is expected to include keynotes from Elon Musk and Ashok Elluswamy, Tesla’s autopilot director. A virtual demo will also be presented to show the capabilities of the robotaxis.
Despite the excitement, there are concerns about regulatory approvals and the potential for incidents involving autonomous vehicles, which could lead authorities to suspend operations.
