Garth Brooks Accused of Sexual Assault and Battery
Garth Brooks, a country music superstar, has been accused of sexual assault and battery by a former hair and makeup artist. The lawsuit, filed on October 3, 2024, alleges that Brooks raped and physically assaulted the woman, identified as “Jane Roe,” in 2019 during a work trip to Los Angeles. According to the complaint, Roe began working for Brooks in 2017, after initially working for his wife, Trisha Yearwood, since 1999.
The lawsuit claims that Brooks forcibly raped Roe in a hotel room and made repeated explicit remarks and advances. It also states that Brooks continued to employ Roe despite the alleged incidents, and she eventually sought legal counsel and moved to Mississippi in May 2021.
Brooks has denied the allegations and attempted to block the lawsuit by filing a preemptive complaint under the pseudonym “John Doe” in Mississippi, claiming that Roe’s allegations were not true and stemmed from his refusal to make her a salaried employee with medical benefits.
