### Body Language Expert Analyzes Walz’s Debate Performance
A body language expert, Scott Rouse, analyzed Governor Tim Walz’s behavior during the vice presidential debate. Rouse observed what he described as “panic” on Walz’s face when he was questioned about his claim of being in Hong Kong during the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests. The expert noted that Walz’s body language, including a sideways head turn and wide eyes, indicated panic and inner dialogue as he struggled to defend his statement.
Walz was challenged by CBS debate moderators about his false claim, and his response included talking about growing up in rural Nebraska, which Rouse interpreted as an attempt to change the subject. The expert suggested that a more direct and straightforward answer would have been more trustworthy. Dr. Phil, who was hosting the analysis, proposed that Walz could have simply admitted to the mistake and explained it, thereby avoiding the appearance of panic.
