Rain Floods Tents of Displaced Palestinians

Heavy rain has caused widespread flooding in Gaza, affecting the makeshift tents of displaced Palestinians. The downpours have deluged tents in overcrowded camps, exacerbating the misery of those who have been displaced due to the ongoing conflict. The worst-affected areas include Deir Al Balah, Khan Younis, and Al Mawasi camp, where residents are struggling to keep their fragile shelters intact.

Many displaced families, including those in the Al Mawasi area, have seen their tents flooded by both rain and sea tides. The situation is dire, with 74% of the tents being unusable and 100,000 needing urgent replacement due to wear and tear.

Residents are pleading for help as they face another winter under siege. The international community has been urged to increase humanitarian aid to address the severe shortages of water, food, medical supplies, and hygiene products.
