Pete Rose, Major League Baseball’s All-Time Hit King, Dies at 83
Pete Rose, known as Major League Baseball’s hit king, has died at the age of 83. The medical examiner in Clark County, Nevada, confirmed his death on Monday.
Rose was a 17-time Major League Baseball All-Star and held the record for most career hits with 4,256 hits, surpassing Ty Cobb’s record. He also won three World Series championships, two with the Cincinnati Reds and one with the Philadelphia Phillies.
However, his career was marred by a lifetime ban from the sport in 1989 due to accusations of betting on games while he was managing the Reds. Despite this, he remains one of the most iconic figures in baseball history.
