Barbra Streisand Remembers ‘Charming’ Kris Kristofferson
Barbra Streisand has paid tribute to her late A Star Is Born costar Kris Kristofferson after he died at age 88 on Saturday, Sept. 28. Streisand, 82, shared a sweet post on Instagram remembering the renowned actor and country singer-songwriter. She recalled the first time she saw Kristofferson performing at the Troubadour club in L.A., saying, “I knew he was something special. Barefoot and strumming his guitar, he seemed like the perfect choice for a script I was developing, which eventually became A Star Is Born.”
Streisand highlighted their work on the film, including their Oscar-winning original song “Evergreen,” which she described as the “main love theme” of the project. She also mentioned their duet “Lost Inside Of You,” which they performed together at her latest concert in 2019 at London’s Hyde Park. “He was as charming as ever, and the audience showered him with applause. It was a joy seeing him receive the recognition and love he so richly deserved,” she added.
Streisand concluded her post by expressing her thoughts to Kristofferson’s wife, Lisa, saying, “My thoughts go to Kris’ wife, Lisa who I know supported him in every way possible.” Other stars, including Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire, also paid tribute to Kristofferson following his death, describing him as a great writer, actor, and friend.
