The operation, which involved precise intelligence guidance, successfully hit Hezbollah’s central headquarters located underground in the Dahieh district of Beirut.
Retired Colonel Leighton, appearing on CNN, highlighted the “incredible preparation” behind the IDF’s operation. He emphasized the meticulous planning and intelligence gathering that allowed the IDF to locate and target Nasrallah effectively.
The IDF stated that Nasrallah was the primary target of the operation, and his death is seen as a significant blow to Hezbollah. Additionally, the IDF reported the elimination of several other Hezbollah commanders, including Ali Karaki, who led the southern front.
The airstrikes also resulted in the deaths of at least six other individuals and injured 91 people, according to preliminary reports from Lebanon’s health ministry. The Israeli military emphasized the precision of the operation, despite the collateral damage in the densely populated area.
