MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle Defends Harris’ Non-Answers in Solo Interview
MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle recently defended Vice President Kamala Harris for not directly addressing her question about how she would fund her ambitious economic initiatives if Republican lawmakers impede her attempts to elevate the corporate tax rate.
During an interview on “Deadline: White House,” Ruhle asked Harris where she would source the funds necessary to support her costly economic initiatives, particularly the expansion of the child tax credit. Harris replied that they must increase corporate taxes to ensure the wealthiest corporations and billionaires contribute their fair share.
Ruhle acknowledged that Harris did not directly answer her inquiry, but she defended Harris by stating that former President Trump would significantly worsen the deficit compared to Harris’s plans. Ruhle noted that the American public has forgotten or no longer considers the importance of debt and deficits, and that Harris is competing against Trump in the election.
Ruhle also expressed that Harris is not aiming for perfection but is competing against Trump, emphasizing that voters already know Trump’s intentions and the threats he poses to democracy. She framed Harris as a more favorable option in the binary election scenario, suggesting that Harris’s responses may not be entirely clear but are understandable given the context.
