Thune’s fundraising efforts have been significant, with a recent transfer of $4 million to the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), the largest in the organization’s history. The leader race also involves other prominent Republicans, including Sens. John Cornyn (R-TX) and Rick Scott (R-FL).
